Herman "Art" Taylor is President & CEO of the BBB Wise Giving Alliance (give.org) and a Lecturer at Columbia University School of Professional Studies since 2018. He also serves as a guest lecturer at Georgetown McDonough School and George Washington University’s Trachtenberg School.
- Education: BA in Business Administration from Franklin & Marshall College (1980), JD from Temple University (1989), Foresight Practitioner Certificate (2015), and Blockchain Strategy Certificate (University of Oxford).
Mr. Taylor specializes in non-profit ethics, charity accountability, and blockchain-driven philanthropy. His initiatives include the Givesafely.io platform (2020) and the Give.org Donor Trust Reports (2019–2021), which analyze donor trust and DEI practices in the charitable sector.
His leadership expanded charity evaluations from 250 to 1,400 national reports and introduced the Accredited Charity Seal, generating over 1 billion public impressions. He co-authored The Overhead Myth and pioneered the Advancing Collaboration project with Stanford Social Innovation Review.
- Awards: ASAE Innovation Award (2018), Non-Profit Times Hall of Fame, 4-time Power and Influence Top 50 honoree.
Mr. Taylor chairs the Mobile Giving Foundation and serves on multiple boards, including Franklin & Marshall College (Senior Vice Chair) and the Generosity Commission’s Policy Taskforce. His career spans non-profit leadership, law, accounting (CPA at Deloitte), and policy advisory roles.
